Classic home cooking, eastern European style.
cannot beat the price for the quality of the food highly recommend
Actual authentic Ukrainian cuisine, 10/10
I'm sorry but the inside of this place is dirty, we were given dirty plates and dirty to go containers. My step dad received and finished his food before the other 3 of us got ours. We all asked for boiled and each and every one of us bad half fried, except my step dad who got his all boiled? Not sure what's going in here
Had a great time with good friends.
Authentic home cooking prepared by a lovely granny. There’s nothing fancy but that’s what makes it special. Food is delicious, especially loved the cabbage role, best ever! The restaurant has apparently been around since the 1920s, it was lovely to chat with the sweet granny and amazing to hear the interesting histories. The restaurant and owner are both very low key, but I feel they should be given a lot more credit.
The food was absolutely delicious. Amazing bang for your buck as well too. Would definitely recommend to anyone who would like authentic Ukrainian cuisine
As delicious as I remember it being 30 years ago. Very inexpensive.
Great food. Great service.
Great home made food at a cheap price. I felt like I walked through a lot time warp and stepped right back into my grand mothers kitchen.
Anna is dedicated to making sure you enjoy your meal. You must have the Walnut Torte! It is amazing!
This is not the place if you're in a hurry. You're going to enjoy your experience more with some patience because your meal and the value of it are well worth any wait. Just imagine you're at your grandmother's house. The decor is charming and reminds one of a simpler time. I'll be back!
Very comfortable atmosphere; Anna is very friendly and charming. The food is delicious and cheap. I've loved this place for years.
Owners russian, but she will cook everything on the spot for you. Place is not very clean, pricing on drinks is not convenient at all (2 dollars a glass of juice), but food is fresh, authentic and quite cheap. 4 people ate there for 40 dollars.
Great homemade food, low prices, and fast service!
Great food and decor especially for the price. Better than anything in Hamtramck! Well coupled with ice skating in the park
Real authentic, delicious Ukranian food. All fresh. Not frozen. The sauer kraut perogies and cabbage rolls are my favourite. The owner is always polite and respectful.
Small and cozy restaurant with amazing food. The perogies were fantastic, exactly the way I like them. The roast pork dinner was so good. The meat was so tender and juicy. I recommend this place to anyone. It's off the beaten path of other restaurants, but so worth it.
OMG this place brought back memories of my grandmothers cooking. Authentic and oh so yummy! Like stepping back in time to her kitchen as it is in little house that was converted into a restaurant.
We were very pleased with the prices and the amazing food. The atmosphere is cozy and casual. The Walnut Torte for dessert was incredible.
It was like being invited to dinner at your friend's Ukranian grandmother's home. It was good, it was different, it was warm and you hope you get invited back.
Good price, great food and wonderful service.
Old style, very traditional view and taste.
So reasonably priced
It was a experience....to say the least ...I have to give the owner credit...make sure u bring cash...
Cozy little placed run by a very friendly old lady. The prices are unbeatable and it's a great place to get a home cooked meal.
A pleasant place to be the owner has a fantastic sense of humor food was excellent the desserts were even better!
Fantastic food at a great price ... What's not to love?
First time there. Went with a friend on her suggestion. We had borscht which was delicious and her cabbage rolls and perogies. Very good and reasonably priced. She has been cooking there for around 60 years. I will go back to try her other food.
All traditional Ukrainian food and hospitality. Never really busy because of its popularity and exposure. I've seen going here for over 34 years for pierogies, sausages, borscht and fresh breads. You never have to worry about a table, though after this review I so hope they get inundated with visitors because they have been an icon in the neighborhood for over 60 years or more. They take most methods of payment though cash is easier. Please enjoy if you do want homemade food.
Great place been there 50 years!
Loved it. Reminded me of my Baba's. Even the smell of the food cooking warmed my heart.
Open since three 20s and for good reason. Homemade comfort food served in a house-made-restaurant. I've tried a lot of cabbage rolls, but these were close to the best I have had. Highly recommended.
Absolutely great, home made Ukrainian food. The owner is a charming woman and a very talented cook. Highly reccomend but bring cash. No debit or credit.
Just real Ukrainian home cooking, with fun, friendly service and excellent cabbage rolls.
Food was delicious. It made me feel like I was eating back at my Baba's house. Anna was an incredible host
Great Ukrainian food at an even better price. Not the fanciest place, but it's cozy, quiet, and personal. It was a little different than I've been used to, but all-in-all it was a fantastic experience.
Charming little place with tasty home cooked flavour! Try it out!
Amazing food for a good price, i will definitely be going back again for another delicious meal.
Great food and very reasonable prices. We had the borscht and chicken noodle soup, followed by cabbage rolls, cheese pierogies and cabbage pierogies. The soups were very flavourful and tasted homemade. The cabbage rolls were exquisite - nicely balanced filling with cabbage that was firm enough to hold the filling but soft enough to cut them easily. The pierogies were well done and not overly doughy. Took home some strudels and walnut roll also - all outstanding desserts. This place is a gem tucked away off of the main drag of Windsor’s Italian village.
Great old school restaurant. Food was served promptly and was Eastern European delicious. Lunch for 2 of us with pierogies, cabbage rolls, soup, bread and butter and some stewed cabbage was $20 all in. Hard to beat to be sure!
Best perogi and borsche. Sweetest lady ever. I wish I could put her in my house and have her cook for me everyday she amazing.
Good homemade comfort food made by a sweet elderly lady at very reasonable price.
Fantastic, unique restaurant that's been around for a long time!
Food is great
Amazing. We tried pretty much everything on the menu. It knocked our socks off. This is our neww favorite restaurant.
Amazing food, great setvice and affordable hearty meals. Make sure to bring cash.
